Fairy Meadows & Nanga Parbat BC

The gentlest walk to an 8,000-metre wall.

The Fairy Meadows route is Pakistan's most accessible big-mountain trek: jeep to Tattu, an hour's walk to the meadow at 3,300 m, cabin nights facing Nanga Parbat's Raikot face, and an optional day-walk to the Base Camp viewpoint under the glacier icefall. Three days round from Islamabad; no camping required.

It's the rare itinerary where the photograph over-delivers in person — 8,126 m of mountain rising four vertical kilometres from your porch rail. Sunset and dawn belong to overnighters; SafarGB's cabin rows and bedding standard exist because the mountain deserves better than a bad night's sleep.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How hard is the walk to Fairy Meadows?

The jeep does the climbing; the walk is 3–4 km on a good trail (about an hour, up to two at leisure). The optional BC viewpoint day adds 6–7 hours return on moderate ground.
