Chunda climbs the valley wall opposite Skardu in terraced village steps — the region's best blossom amphitheatre each April and a year-round balcony over the Indus, Katpana and the airport's dramatic approach path.
In blossom week Chunda out-photographs Hunza with a fraction of the traffic: apricot and cherry terraces stacked forty deep, Balti rooftops between, and below it all the pale sweep of the cold desert. The rest of the year it remains the town's finest overlook.
~30–40 min from Skardu across the Indus bridge; narrow village switchbacks — small 4x4 and local driver recommended (ours grew up on them).
Questions, answered
When exactly is blossom season?
Skardu's amphitheatres typically bloom late March to mid-April, Chunda peaking around the second week of April — we confirm week-of and reshuffle itineraries so guests hit peak petals.
